21  Why do some of the current models have a black plastic front facia?

This is an anti reflective cover and prevents IR from reflecting back towards the LED array, it provides approximately an extra 10% illumination from the IR in night time conditions.

22  What are the power requirements for the ML600 magnetic lock ?

The ML600 uses approx 5.8 Watts, it can be connected to a 12V DC or 24V DC power supply and will consume 480mA at 12V DC and 240mA at 24V DC.

23  What is the maximum current I can pass through the door release relay of DS-KV8X02-IM and DS-KD8002-VM outdoor stations?

Each model can pass a maximum of 1A through its door release relay output for connected mag-lock power.

24  How do I switch from full screen view to multi screen view using the remote control from local output ?

Using the remote control it is possible to bring any camera up full screen by pressing the required channel number on the remote control, to view your cameras in split screen view simply press the PREV button repeatedly to scroll through all available split screen options stopping on the one you wish to display.

25  I have cut the CAT5 cable to my IPC during installation what are the correct colours to use

The colour for camera interface:
orange	yellow	green	grey	purple	blue	brown	white
Corresponding colour of the network cables:
orange-white	orange	white-green	blue	blue-white	green	brown-white	brown

26  Are HikCentral views private or public?

The private views are saved to the relative login and can only be edited / deleted by the account that they were created on through the client software.

 

The public views can be edited / deleted through the Hik-Central client by anyone with the permissions set or through the admin account on the client software.

27  How do I use a Google Map on HikCentral.

Firstly you would need to setup a google developer account in order to get the google maps API Key.

Once you have the API key you will then be able to enter this in the web client of HikCentral within System>Normal>Map. You would then need to enable “GIS Map”. Once this is enabled you will then be able to enter the API key for google maps.

28  Can I connect a switch into the POE ports on the back of the NVR?

Yes you can connect a switch into one of the POE ports on the back of the NVR, however we suggest a maximum of 4 cameras running through a single POE port. The cameras would also need manually assigning IP addresses and manually added to the NVR.

29  Can I record an Audio Input direct to my NVR?

No, the audio input on NVR’s is for 2 way communication, in order to record audio on a NVR it must come from an IPC that supports an Audio input.

30  How do I enable virtual host on the NVR?

To enable the virtual host function you need to login to the NVR via the web front end, go to configuration and then network and advanced settings and then other and press the tick box and press save.
