1  How do I set the NVR menu to appear on my VGA or HDMI monitor

select "More Settings" at the top of the page
change "menu output mode" to your required Video Out
2  What is zero channel encoding and how do I configure it?
Zero channel encoding allows a single multiplexed stream of many channels to be transmitted from the NVR across a remote connection using web browser or CMS program which is benfical for locations with tight bandwidth.
Steps:

Enter the Live View Settings interface. Menu > Configuration > Live View

Select the Channel-Zero Encoding tab.

Check the checkbox after Enable Channel Zero Encoding.

Configure the Frame Rate, Max. Bitrate Mode and Max. Bitrate.
After you set the Channel-Zero encoding, you can get a view in the remote client or web browser of multi-channels in one screen
3  Can I connect a switch into the POE ports on the back of the NVR?
Yes you can connect a switch into one of the POE ports on the back of the NVR, however we suggest a maximum of 4 cameras running through a single POE port. The cameras would also need manually assigning IP addresses and manually added to the NVR.
4  Can I record an Audio Input direct to my NVR?
No, the audio input on NVR’s is for 2 way communication, in order to record audio on a NVR it must come from an IPC that supports an Audio input.
5  How do I enable virtual host on the NVR?
To enable the virtual host function you need to login to the NVR via the web front end, go to configuration and then network and advanced settings and then other and press the tick box and press save.
6  what is the RTSP path for NVR channels
rtsp://<username>:<password>@<ip>:<port>/h.264/<ch>/<main>/av_stream
<username>: a valid user’s username.
<password> :user’s password.
<ip> :the IP address
<port >:the default port is 554.
<channelNo> :the channel number. (It starts from ch33).
<main> :the stream type. either "main" or "sub"

7  Can my NVR support a DS-1006KI Keyboard?
It depends on the model of your Recorder. It needs to have a KB socket for it to accept an RS485 Keyboard Connection. This can be found at the back of the unit, typically adjacent to the Alarm Input connections.
8  How do I assign cameras to live view on the recorder
GUI4: Go to System, Live view and select the output in question and set the live view mode to the grid view of your desire (1x1, 2x2, 3x3, etc) Then go to view and select what cameras you want to display o the output
GUI3: Go to Menu, Configuration, Live view and select the live view mode then go to view and select what cameras he wants to display on the output.
